Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the retreat cost?

We offer tiered pricing: $475 early bird if you book by November 30, 2025, or $550 regular pricing from December 1-20, 2025. This all-inclusive price covers 2 nights of lodging in our cozy Blue Ridge Mountains cabin, 5 delicious meals (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast/lunch/dinner, Sunday breakfast - including our fun pizza-making night!), 4 yoga sessions, guided nature hikes right from the cabin, Coding 101 workshop, arts & crafts supplies and instruction, hot tub access, fireside mentor/mentee circles, and all activities. The only things you need to bring are your personal items, comfortable clothes, and an open heart.

Where exactly is the cabin located?

The retreat will be held at a private cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia, about 2 hours from Atlanta. The exact address will be shared with confirmed participants 2 weeks before the retreat for privacy and safety reasons. The location is chosen for its peaceful natural surroundings, direct access to hiking trails right from the cabin, hot tub, and cozy mountain atmosphere perfect for disconnecting from daily stress.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

Most guests will share rooms with bunk beds or queen/king beds (think sleepover vibes!). We find that shared rooms actually enhance the bonding experience. If you have a strong preference or need a private room for personal reasons, please note that in your application - we'll do our best to accommodate, though private rooms may incur an additional fee depending on availability.

I've never done yoga or coding - is this retreat still for me?

Absolutely! This retreat is designed for beginners and all experience levels. Our yoga sessions are gentle and accessible - no flexibility or prior experience required. The Coding 101 workshop is a fun, creative introduction with zero pressure or prerequisites. The arts & crafts are freeform and expressive. Come as you are - curiosity is the only requirement!

What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?

We've got you covered! The application form asks about dietary restrictions, and we accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other needs. All meals are prepared with care and include fresh, nourishing options. If you have severe allergies or very specific needs, please reach out to us directly at inthepark.co@gmail.com so we can ensure your safety and comfort.

How does the deposit and payment work?

Once your application is reviewed and accepted, you'll receive a payment link to secure your spot with a $100 deposit (via Venmo or PayPal). The remaining balance ($375 for early bird or $450 for regular pricing) is due by December 20, 2025. If for any reason you're not accepted for this retreat, your deposit will be fully refunded. We want to keep the group intimate and intentional, so spots are limited to 8-10 women.

What's the refund/cancellation policy?

Cancellations: If you need to cancel more than 30 days before the retreat (by December 10, 2025), you'll receive a full refund minus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations 15-30 days out receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, cancellations less than 15 days before the retreat are non-refundable, as we've already purchased food and materials based on headcount.

Transfer Options: You can transfer your spot to a friend anytime (just let us know!). Can't make this retreat? Transfer your deposit to any future 2026 retreat (one transfer allowed, must use within 12 months).

No-Shows: If you don't show up and haven't notified us, no refund is issued.

Minimum Attendance: We need minimum 6 confirmed attendees for the retreat to run. If we don't reach minimum by December 1, all deposits are fully refunded.

Do I need to bring anything special?

Just the basics! Pack comfortable clothes for yoga and hiking (layers are key), toiletries, any personal medications, a water bottle, and a journal if you like to write. We provide yoga mats, art supplies, and all meals. Optional items: hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers, a cozy sweater for fireside chats, and a camera to capture memories. A full packing list will be sent to confirmed participants.

What's this mentor/mentee pairing thing?

During the retreat, you'll be paired with either a mentor or mentee for optional fireside conversations and breakfast chats. Mentors offer guidance and share their experiences, while mentees receive support and fresh perspectives. You can choose your preference in the application! These pairings are designed to foster deeper connections and create accountability partnerships that can extend beyond the weekend. It's completely judgment-free and based on what YOU want to give or receive.

Can I come if I'm not from Atlanta?

Of course! While this retreat is designed for the Atlanta community, we welcome women from anywhere. If you're traveling from out of town, the application form asks about your transportation needs - we may be able to help coordinate carpools from the Atlanta area. Just know that transportation to/from Atlanta is not included in the retreat cost.

Is this retreat only for women?

Yes, this pilot retreat is specifically designed for women and those who identify as women. We've created this as a safe, supportive space for women to connect, be vulnerable, and support each other without the dynamics that can sometimes arise in mixed-gender spaces. We may explore other formats in the future, but for now, this is a women-only gathering.

Will there be cell service and WiFi?

The cabin will have WiFi available, and there's typically cell service in the area, though it may be spotty in some outdoor locations. That said, we encourage you to disconnect as much as possible! This is your chance to step away from emails, social media, and the constant digital noise. We promise - the world will still be there when you get back, and you'll return feeling so much more refreshed.

What if I don't vibe with the group or it's not what I expected?

We totally get this concern - it's vulnerable to spend a weekend with strangers! That's why we carefully review applications to create a cohesive, supportive group. The schedule includes both group activities and solo reflection time, so you're never forced to be "on" 24/7. If you're feeling uncomfortable at any point, please talk to Cherie (the founder) - she'll be on-site the entire weekend and wants everyone to feel safe and supported. This is a judgment-free zone.

When will the next retreat be after January?

If this pilot retreat goes well (and we're confident it will!), we plan to host quarterly retreats - roughly one per season. The tentative schedule would be Spring (March/April), Summer (June/July), Fall (September/October), and Winter (January). Sign up for our mailing list to be the first to know about future dates and early bird pricing! Future retreats will be priced at $650, so the January pilot at $475 is truly a special opportunity.

Why is it called In The Park?

In The Park is founded on the belief that nature - parks, forests, trails, open spaces - is where we reconnect with ourselves and each other. Just like parks serve as gathering places that bring diverse people together, our retreats create that same sense of community and belonging. Plus, our founder's last name literally means "woods" - so it's both philosophical and personal! We host our retreats in or near natural spaces because that's where transformation happens.
